My name is Tracy Robins and I am running to represent SC House District 75 in the South Carolina General Assembly in the November 2026 General Election. Even though I lost my primary 2024 bid against former Representative Kirkman Finlay, I am eager to regain this seat for the Republican Party. I knew it would be a difficult task to defeat Finlay in the primary, but I did work extremely hard. During the primary, I knocked on over 12,000 doors, talking firsthand to voters in my district to better understand the exact issues that were concerns for them. This groundwork will be the foundation for me to be successful in my attempts to win this seat in November of 2026.
I am a native of South Carolina, and I am the daughter of public school educators. With great admiration for my parents, I also became a teacher and chose to serve in the poorest of schools in our state. I did this because I believed those children were in the highest need of teachers that care. During my decades-long career, my students always outperformed expectations on state testing because I was able to build such strong community relationships with students and their families. As a teacher, I served such roles as Department Chairman, Team Leader, SIC member, and was appointed to our school’s Leadership Team. For my students, I coached girl’s track, volleyball, and softball. I also was our school’s Yearbook and Student Government advisor.
Currently, I am a very active member of the Richland County Republican Party, serving as the party’s 1st Vice Chair and the RCGOP Election Committee Chairwoman. Under my committee’s leadership during the November 2024 election, we helped the Richland County Republican Party become #1 in the state for door knocks and #3 in the state for post card writing and phone calls made for our candidates.
My decision to run for the State House again was not an easy choice to make. However, I am extremely committed to bringing about real change to our district and our state. Richland County currently only has one Republican State Representative and only one Republican State Senator in our General Assembly. That means that Republican voters in our county have very little representation in the SC Republican dominated legislature. Democrats like Heather Bauer are in the minority in the General Assembly and therefore are unable to bring about any meaningful legislation for us in District 75. Richland Democrats in the General Assembly continue to vote against common sense solutions to our county’s issues. For example, every Richland Democrat in the SC House, including Heather Bauer, voted NO on S62, The Education Scholarship Trust Fund. This bill allows your children to attend any school of your choice. Considering the failures of Richland 1 School District noted in their most recent Annual School Report Card, Heather Bauer (along with every single Richland Democrat in the State House) would rather your children be enslaved to failing school system than allow you to choose a better option for your child’s education. In Richland 1 School District’s last report card, only 45% of students met the basic standards on the SC Ready
yearly exam in English. Even worse, only 32% of students in Richland 1 met the basic standards in
mathematics.
In Richland County, Democrats are in the majority. We do not have any Republicans on our Richland 1 school board, and we only have two Republicans on our County Council. Under this Democrat leadership, we experience some of the highest property taxes of any other county in our state, and our public schools continue to perform below the national average. With Democrat leadership in Richland, our crime rate is a “D”, and we have higher violent crime rates than the national average. Common-sense voices have been drowned out by the Richland Democrat elected majority.
Their leadership is a failure locally, as well as being completely voiceless in our State House. We must choose differently at the ballot box.
Our county is home to our state’s capital city. What happens here does indeed impact the rest of our state. We are ground zero in the fight to protect our values and our communities across South Carolina. My legislative priorities will be public school reform, supporting our small businesses, fiscal responsibility, tax reform, conservation and the protection of our state’s beautiful ecosystems, embracing and incentivizing the MAHA movement, and public safety to just name a few. Our current representative, Heather Bauer stands for virtually everything that I am against. Her liberty voting score is 18%, making her one of the most left-wing representatives in our State House. She is not a moderate. Also, because she is also in the minority party, Bauer has not been able to legislate for the people of our district. Therefore, she is nothing more than a Lame Duck elected official.
Critics say that SC House District 75 is no longer winnable for the Republican Party in Richland County. I disagree. I believe that my strong platform, along with my willingness to work extremely hard on the ground game effort, and my ability to reach across the aisle and build a sense of cooperation and community with all elected officials will enable me to win this seat back for Republicans.
Successful campaigns need support and financial contributions. If you would like to financially support my campaign, please go to the top right corner of this website and click the "contribute" button.. No donation is ever too small, and I am extremely grateful to any of you who choose to give. Heather Bauer was able to raise $300,000 during her last successful campaign, bringing donations in from out of our state. I will need financial assistance for commercials, mailers, and campaign signs to get my message to as many voters as possible to defeat her next year. Please consider donating to my efforts.
I also hope that you will choose to share my message, my contact information, and my website with your friends, family, neighbors, and associates to help spread my message. Please also choose to place my campaign yard sign in your yard during the election season.
